Proposed prices... ouch!

Just browsing the website and saw the proposed prices.

From a business position, please give this a little more consideration.

At those prices, every truck-camper maker could easily fab up a camper to fit 4x8, 5x8 and 6x10 utility trailers in a heart beat, with very little design work.

I love your idea, but if you ask these prices, you're opening up the door for everyone else also.

I appreciate your interest and concern about the Teal Camper. Prices are a function of cost. We are doing everything we can to keep the prices as low as possible but we can only go as low as costs allow.

I agree that anybody can fab up a camper that will fit on a utility trailer. What is far more difficult is to make one that is as durable, light weight and versatile as the Teal Camper.

The modular configuration that allows the Teal Camper to be easily stored, assembled and disassembled, modified to fit various size utility trailers, has a popup roof and is extremely strong while being very light weight is unique and protected by a patent pending.

You can buy a completed Teal Camper kit or anything from panels to a shell that you can outfit yourself. Much like building a house, they all cost about the same to frame up. It is the finishing that differentiates the upscale home from the tract home. It is the same with the Teal Camper. For those who have some do-it-yourself ability and want to save some money, we will be making plans available for cabinets, cushions and even roofs. Simply purchase the panels and create your own camper.

Keep an eye on our web site. Before the end of the year we will be posting a complete price list that will allow you to assemble your Teal Camper the way you want it to fit your budget. Smiler

* Interior dimensions 5' x 8'-6"
* Pop-up roof with canvas sides (includes two 12V LED ceiling lights)
* Bench lockers, dinette table, bed, wall cabinet, floor cabinet, sink with drain
* 4 operable side windows, 1 fixed front window, 2 fixed door windows (locking doors)
* All parts and hardware for assembly (floor board by others)
The estimated price of $4995 does not seem too bad considering what one gets. I would be most interested in the 4x8 one. It is - as it indicates - estimated prices.

One could probably lower the price by doing the interior oneself or buy them at a later time? (ie; some now and some later? spread the cost out over months? (just thinking out loud).

Here in Canada a new camper will set you back 11, 000 to 20, 000 as far as I know and used from 2,000 to 10, 000 roughly maybe. All this without the flexibility offered here. This has to be profitable for the maker and the seller. It would be a stretch for our budget that's true but it would be a good site better than what we have looked at for a similar ammount of money with a lot less utility and everything will be new and made a modern materials. It will cost less to tow as well being light but because it's on a utility trailer or the truck it will be easy to get it into the back country. We were majorly concerned about the wheel clearance and light chasis on most lite small campers. This can go anywhere and do anything for less gas money and the insulation is hopefully better so it might be easy to keep warm and cool, another saving. Think of the hotel room costs saved, and it's light enough you don't need a truck at all, more gas money saved. Sounds worth it to us, if Canadians can swing getting one.
