Hi – I’m so excited I’m about too. . .well, you know; but for now a few questions.
Never mind, another view of the video shows a floor assembly with channels the panels go into. Shouldn’t leak, right? ( HERE WAS A QUESTION) When the panels are all assembled and lashed to the trailer, is there also a seal for the bottom that sits on the plywood deck? I was a bit confused with the PVC floor mat that goes up the sides and keeps water off the floor. Does water have an opportunity to come under the panels? Where could one mount an air conditioner, and how? Where could one stow a portable potty? If I ordered a 5 x 8 kit (wife permitting) how long might the wait be, and what might shipping costs be to 70808? |

FLOOR SEALING
The video shows the original prototype being assembled. The current production model does not have the channel mounted to the floor to accept the panels. The floor liner that rolls up the side of the panel keeps the interior dry. There are several suggestions for further sealing the floor. Each one adds a bit more protection. 1. It is a good idea to paint the floor board to seal it against moisture. 2. Lay a foam camper strip on the floor for the panels to sit on. The strip is about 2" wide and 1/2" thick. It is generally available at hardware stores in the weather strip section. 3. Have a local metal shop make up a "Z" shaped flashing that bends up inside the panel and down at the edge of the floor board. You can accomplish the same thing with two "L" shaped flashings from the home improvement store. I have two campers here. One simply has the floor liner and a painted floor board. The other has all three. Both seem to work just fine. We have had a lot of rain recently and both are high and dry. AIR CONDITIONING You might want to check out http://www.climaterightair.com/ It is a small air conditioner that can mount on the tongue and be ducted into the camper. PORTA POTTY Our porta potty stores nicely between the cabinet and the bench seat. We also carry a privacy tent made for using the porta potty and taking a shower. We set it up just outside the camper when we want the potty outside. ORDERING As mentioned in the News article on the home page, we are making some improvements to the tooling and production. At this time it looks like the earliest deliveries would be late June. Shipping from Colorado to Baton Rouge would be around $500. |

Instead of an AC unit, could one mount a ceiling fan or window fan to vent hot air and / or get fresh air?
